Southern Cape Bee Industry Association
As a member of SABIO, SCBIA represents the Beekeeping Industry in the Southern Cape Region. Our purpose is to promote sustainable, ethical as well as professional Apiculture practices in the region.
DALRRD
Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development
Beekeepers, as well as Bee Removal Service Providers are obliged to register annually with DALRRD. Please note that you have to send your completed registration form directly to DALRRD, and not to SCBIA, nor to SABIO.
Honey Labeling
Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries
Regulations relating to the grading and marketing of honey and mixtures of bee products intended for sale in the Republic of South Africa.
The Bee Industry
Includes persons involved in:
- Research, training and development of beekeeping;
- Bottling, packaging/manufacture of honeybee products;
- Manufacture/sale of equipment for keeping bees;
- Capture, removal and also relocation of honeybee colonies.
